Editorial standards & sourcing

Where our data comes from
Route requirements, fees, financial thresholds, and refusal reasons are compiled from official government sources — for example the U.S. Department of State, GOV.UK (UK Home Office), Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the European Commission and Schengen visa statistics, the Australian Department of Home Affairs, and the UAE government portal. Each enriched route page links to the authoritative source and shows a “last reviewed” date.
How we treat numbers
Approval and refusal rates are approximate educational estimates, not official per-application odds. We never present an estimate as an official figure, and we never invent statistics or success rates. Our full methodology explains exactly how the estimate is built and weighted — there is no black box.
What we are — and aren’t
VisaOdds is an independent, educational planning tool. We are not a government body, not affiliated with any consulate, and not a law firm. Nothing here is legal advice. For advice about your specific case, consult a licensed immigration professional or the official source for your destination.
Independence
The estimate is free and is not influenced by any advertiser. If we ever add clearly-labeled partner links or paid features, they will never change how the odds are calculated.
Freshness & review
Rules, fees, and thresholds change. We review route data on a recurring basis and stamp each content page with a “last reviewed” date so you can judge how current it is. When we learn a figure has changed, we update it and refresh the date.
